Semiya Paysam is the easiest to make and my favorite too. ‘Semiya‘ means Vermicelli. So Semiya Paysam is Sweet Vermicelli Pudding. Try this easy and healthy recipe.
Vermicelli Kheer/Semiya Payasam recipe:
Roasted Vermicelli (Semiya) – 1 cup
Milk – 5 cups
Sugar – 8 – 10 tbsps
Ghee – 1 tbsp
Crushed cardamom (elakka) – 4 pods
Cashew Halves – 20
Raisins – 20
Sweet Condensed Milk – 1/2 cup (optional)
Heat a pan, add ghee and saute cashew nut and raisins. Mix it till it turns golden brown.
Add vermicelli and saute for 2 minutes. Now add milk, sugar and cardamom powder.
Allow to cook till consistency becomes thick. Now add Condensed milk and stir well.
Vermicelli Payasam is ready to serve.
